Suffering from Uncharacteristic Insomnia

That is not the whole truth (I'm a terrible liar).  I'm sensitive, chemically speaking, and the iced cafe americano I imbibed at 4:00 PM this afternoon is preventing my eyelids from shutting for the night.  Will talking about dreaming coerce the caff to vacate my veins?  Let's find out.

Dream a little dream?
Heck no!
Dream a big fat weird dream,
Apropos:
Last night I saw a mammal, hairy and huge;
Though I remember not which kind.
Our fascist gov'ment had a frat facade,
And the two were intertwined.
In a curious, nonviolent twist
Police carried plungers instead of guns;
And interviews were taken
By invisible monks and nuns.

Dearest, dearest, dearest brain
Why must my dreams be strange?
I'll quit the late day coffee,
If you agree to change.
