Bangs

I recently participated in data collection at a local retirement community.  I was interviewing a sprite gentleman of 76 years who, after I'd tucked an unruly chunk of hair behind my ear multiple times, kindly asked me, "Why is it that you girls wear your bangs so long these days?"

Before I had time to answer he offered, "I think you girls like to cover up your face to draw attention to it."

At the time I smiled and admitted that he was probably right.  But, upon further reflection, I totally disagree.  I think us girls wear mascara and lip gloss to draw attention to our faces.  We wear our bangs long and swept to the side because it's cool.  It's edgy, it's fun, it's chic.

And chic rules.
